Gear in
Battleborn are items that are unlocked in
Loot Packs and can be added to your
Heroes
Loadout. After opening a Loot Pack, the items can be transferred to your Gear tab or sold if unwanted. Your Gear Bank can initially hold 39 pieces of loot. You may upgrade its capacity by 40 for 7125 credits. Gear can confer a number of different benefits such as
Shard collection, health regen, or damage bonuses. Once added to a loadout, they can be activated during a match by paying their respective
Shard costs.
You may equip 3 pieces of gear in a single loadout. Addtional loadouts can be unlocked at a specific Command Rank and credit cost. The first additional loadout is available at Command Rank 20 with a cost of 4750 credits.
Gear is sorted by differing rarity levels. The effects of the item improve the better its rarity. The rarity also determines the prefix for the item.
Common Loot Pack: Contains 2-3 pieces of Gear from all Factions.

I was just playing the game and I found black gear which I had no clue was possible. its called voxis core and the picture is darkened and the nearly triangular rim around the item when you see the description of it is black but the words of the items name is orange so it may just be a bug but I thought it was worth mentioning.
